Perched overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea along the south west coast of Italy, Scalea’s old town is steeped in history dating back to the 11th century. A beach resort with a unique backdrop, Scalea is a traditional Italian seaside town with a twist.
The old town is within a short walk to the beach and main shopping areas. This centro storico is littered with many restaurants and trattorias along the narrow streets which are unpassable by car. The warren of buildings makes for an enchanting atmosphere and a taste of years gone by.
We have a three room renovataion project for sale towards the top of the old town in Scalea. The property is within a couple of minutes walk to a restaurant and the parking area near the Norman castle.
An arched passage way with steps leads to the main entry for the property. The first room has an old pizza oven which could make a great feature. Adjacent is a second room of similar size. There is a narrow room accessed by a couple of steps. In total the property covers approximately 30 sq mtrs.
Some structural work is required along with new electrics and plumbing. The narrow room would be ideal as a large bathroom. All the windows, doors and shutters need replacing. We estimate a minimum €25,000 for the restoration.
Scalea is just over an hour by train from Lamezia Terme airport and 2.5hrs from Naples airport.
