This traditional property is located in the historical centre of Longobardi (cs), approx 40 mins drive north of Lamezia airport. It can also be accessed by arriving at the train station at Paola which is 25 mins drive away.

Some renovation is required internally, but for those lovers of history this palazzo was once a property of the nobility dating back to 700AD.  The property has retained some traditional features notably the entrance with multi-level stone staircase. The whole building has also recently had a complete new roof, which has been sympathetically constructed in line with the history of the building.

The actual apartment is on 2 levels and arriving via a large hallway the door opens into the first floor, approx. 135sqm, where you will find a lounge which has the original tiled floor. Off the lounge is the kitchen, which has access to a hall that takes you to the upper level.

The upper level has another large lounge with a painted fresco ceiling, approx. 55 sqm. Off the lounge are 3 rooms which are being used as bedrooms, again with original tiled floors. Longobardi : Wander through the narrow streets of the historical centre, where ancient buildings, churches, and traditional architecture tell the story of Longobardi's past. At the entrance to the centre is the Church of The Madonna dell’ Assunta with its distinctive arches and domed roof. This is also the birthplace of San Nicola Saggio who was canonised by Pope Francis in 2014. Strolling through the village you can also enjoy the murals depicting the local professions from years gone by; including blacksmith, ceramic maker etc. It offers many local amenities including a pharmacy, shops, cafe` bar and pizzeria.

In contrast there is a more modern marina front on the coast at Longobardi where you can find a further selection of shops, cafe` bars, a gelateria and restaurant/pizzeria along with a variety of beach lidos during the summer months. Enjoy the sandy beaches and the azure waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The seafront is perfect for relaxing, swimming, and soaking up the Mediterranean sun.

 The town of Amantea is a short drive away and is a busy town with all the modern amenities: variety of shops and boutiques, café bars, restaurants/pizzeria, gelatarias, pharmacies, post office etc. which blends well with the charming old historical centre where you can wander through the traditional narrow streets and enjoy the true feel of Calabria.  The marina beach front offers beach bars and lidos and a small Acqua Park, children’s play area and a variety of seasonal activities. It also hosts many festivals and fieras during the year and a daily market selling locally grown fruit and vegetables.

Longobardi is also conveniently positioned to explore many other traditional villages and the stunning National Park of La Sila is approx. 1 ½ hour drive away, where you can take advantage of the many year round activities that are on offer, including walking, pony trekking, quad bikes and in the winter months, skiing.
Within easy reach via the Autostrada A3 is Reggio Calabria where you will find the Museum that houses the Bronzes of Riace among many other articles of archaeological interest. You can also take in the healing and relaxing qualities of Thermal Springs and Health Spa located at both Lamezia -La Caronte,  and Guardia Piemontese – Terme Luigiane.
